UI-Town Connect 2025
The Pan African University Life and Earth Sciences Institute (PAULESI), University of Ibadan, proudly participated at the 2025 UI-Town Connect, an innovation-driven event that brought together creative minds from the University of Ibadan community and beyond. PAULESI showcased innovations developed by its brilliant scholars, each designed to solve real-life challenges through science and technology. Among these was Solarkep Solution, a smart helmet that empowers outdoor workers with intelligent, self-sustaining head protection and Vitapot, a proudly local food innovation made from orange-fleshed sweet potatoes (OFSP) a natural, Vitamin A-rich product that promotes eye health, child growth, and overall wellbeing.
Other remarkable innovations presented include: Proximed, a unified digital platform linking patients, pharmacies, and healthcare professionals through a secure, prescription-based drug discovery and location service. Homeconnect, Pathfinder and PAULESI also unveiled its 3D Design project, demonstrating the institute’s growing strength in cutting-edge design and prototyping. Through these innovations, PAULESI continues to champion Africa-led research, creativity and sustainable solutions that contribute to improving lives and driving development across the continent.
