The African Scientific Research and Innovation Council (AU-ASRIC) Secretariat, in partnership with the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), is pleased to announce the launch of the 2nd Edition of the Women Elevate Program in collaboration with Microsoft. This program is fully aligned with the AU-STRC and
AU-ASRIC Initiative Towards Women Participation in Scientific Research in Africa under the overall umbrella of enhancing technical and professional competencies to accelerate Africa’s transition to innovation led knowledge-based economy.

The Women Elevate Program is a global initiative designed to bridge the gender gap in Artificial Intelligence by equipping 5,000 women across 61 countries with cutting-edge skills in AI fundamentals, cloud computing, and responsible AI ethics. This edition builds on the success of the first cohort, which trained and certified 1,000 women in 2024. The
program aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals and addresses the pressing global AI skills gap.
