Message of the PAU COUNCIL President! (PAUSTI Graduation ceremony 2020)

|   Council

On behalf of the Pan African University Council and myself, I would like convey heartfelt felicitation to the Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation graduating class of 2020.

The Institute has made tremendous progress in its efforts to produce quality human resources who are uniquely adapted to provide sustainable solutions to the problems facing our continent.

The decision of the African Heads of State to prioritize higher education was informed by the enduring wisdom that any meaningful development programme must be anchored on a sound scientific base.

As a council, we understand the enormity of this decision and believe that it is through equipping young Africans with modern day skills, competencies and attitudes, that they can be effective players in the continent’s transformation programmes.

PAU graduates have the advantage of having been taught about the African situation; including its culture and environment. The many interactions they have while undertaking their studies have allowed them to forge strong networks that can be tapped to drive the realization of Africa Agenda 2063.

I urge the graduands to steadfastly move into Africa’s productive sectors and gallantly impose themselves both scientifically and professionally in their respective areas of specialization. I wish them success in your professional careers in Africa and the globe at large.

Prof. Pierre Dominique Nzinzi

President of the Pan African University Council
