The colourful ceremony was enhanced by the participation of high profile guests including the Commissioner in charge of Education, Science and Technology and Innovation (ESTI), H.E. Prof. Mohammed Belhocine, the President of the PAU Council, Prof. Kenneth Matengu, the Wali of Tlemcen, Mr. Amoumen Mermouri, the Rector of the Abou Bekr Belkaïd University of Tlemcen, 
Prof. Mourad Meghachou, the Director of the Pan-African University Institute of Water and Energy Sciences including Climate Change (PAUWES), Prof. Abdellatif Zerga, as well as the staff and students of PAUWES, and various guests.

The incoming students committed themselves to exemplary behaviour throughout their studies at PAUWES, towards the hierarchy, the staff and the property of the institute.
