The University commends a great man

"A great man is not a small man". This common assertion from Cameroon is often used to highlight the value of an extraordinary man. This is certainly the case of Prof. Joseph Vincent NTUDA Ebode who has definitely left an indelible mark within the Pan African University Institute of Governance Social and Human Sciences (PAUGHSS).

Prof. NTUDA Ebode was born in OKOLA, Cameroon on 1st August 1962. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Yaounde before flying overseas to continue his academic studies. There, he obtained a Diploma from the Institute of Political Studies of Grenoble, a Diploma of Advanced Studies from the Institute of Political Studies of Lyon, a Doctorate in Political Science with a major in International Relations and Strategic Studies from the Institute of Political Studies of Lyon in 1996, and a habilitation to supervise research in law and political sciences from the University Jean Moulin Lyon III.

His professional background is no less commendable. Indeed, back in Cameroon, he was recruited as an assistant in 1997 at the University of Yaounde II, and then became a lecturer in 2000. He became Senior Lecturer in 2006 and full professor of universities in 2013. In the university, he held the positions of Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences in 2005 and Director of Academic Affairs and Cooperation in 2012. The latter position made him the fifth personality of the University of Yaounde II Soa.

In addition to his various administrative and teaching responsibilities at the University of Yaounde II, the Research Centre for Political and Strategic Studies (CREPS) and the War College, Prof. NTUDA will take up the post of Acting Director of the Pan African University Institute of Social and Human Sciences (PAUGHSS) in 2011.

The latter will be in charge of implementing this institute in Cameroon.  He will be confirmed in this position in 2016 and will brilliantly head the institute. During his term of office, Prof. NTUDA EBODE significantly contributed to the inauguration of the Rectorate of the Pan African University in 2018. In 2020, he is replaced by Prof. Elizabeth ABENGA at the head of the institute.

We salute his commitment and brilliant career at the head of PAUGHSS. He put his expertise and his know-how to lay the foundations of the institute and make it an institute of academic excellence in the Central African sub-region.
