Ladies and gentlemen,

I would like to start by expressing my sincere appreciation to the Government of Cameroon for the traditional warm welcome I and my delegation are always granted when we travel to Africa in miniature.

Today marks a turning point in the history of PAUGHSS. A history written in golden letters by a great scholar and academic, Professor Joseph Vincent NTUDA EBODE, who during 9 years succeeded in making this Institute a reference higher education institution in Central Africa.

I would therefore like to say a big thank you to you Prof. NTUDA EBODE and please request a round of applause for him.

Une page est tournée et une autre s'ouvre.

As the cradle of academic excellence and quality education, PAU commits to hire the best of human resource at the head of its various institutes.

So, the designation of Prof. ABENGA as the new Director of PAUGHSS is not by chance.

Actually, she was selected following a rigorous process carried out by an international high-level panel.

She brilliantly turned out to be the best candidate and we are glad to welcome her onboard.

Professor you are once more welcome to PAUGHSS.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me now to make a brief presentation of the

Pan African University Institute of Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences.

PAUGHSS is one of the five hubs of the Pan African University.

This Institute trains students from various countries of Africa who are selected on the basis of excellent academic results while also considering gender issues and candidates with physical disabilities.

The institution currently offers high level trainings to students in Three major fields of study: Governance and Regional integration (Yaounde campus), Translation and Conference Interpretation, and Trade and Trans Boarder languages (Buea campus).

Admission to PAUGHSS is free of charge and selection is based on file review.

Lectures are disseminated in English and French. PAUGHSS students are drawn from accross all African countries. It is therefore expected that all Africans aspiring to study a master or PhD  will get equal opportunity to embark on such  program  at PAU GHSS.Lecturers come from Cameroonian universities, African countries and the diaspora. PAUGHSS is a Continental and Internationalized institution..

Since its inception in 2011, the Institute has trained four batches of students including: the first batch named “the Pioneers” whose graduation ceremony took place on 30 March 2016; the second batch “The Africa We Want” whose official graduation ceremony took place on 20 January 2017, the third batch ‘Emerging Africa” which graduated on 31 March 2018 and the fourth batch "..." which graduated on 20 December 2019. It our hope that the subsequent batches graduate on time and join the world of work with high level competencies.

Dear Prof. Abenga, your academic credentials

speak for themselves. We are so glad to experience your leadership at the head of this Institute.

Now, I would like you to rise for your official commissioning.

As from now, you Prof Elizabeth ABENGA are commissioned into office as the new Director of PAUGHSS.
