PAUSTI Hosts Planning and Coordination meeting

PAUSTI Hosted the first planning and coordination meeting for the year 2024, During the event the PAU Rector, Prof. Jean Kulidiati, along with his Vice Rector, Prof. Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale convened a meeting with the Directors of the four hubs at PAUSTI which is hosted in JKUAT on February 27, 2024.

 

The purpose of the meeting was to foster a unified approach towards strengthening human capacity development on the African continent in conformity with the aspirations of the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The purpose of the meeting was to foster a unified approach towards strengthening human capacity development on the African continent in conformity with the aspirations of the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The PAU Directors led by the Rector further extended a courtesy visit to JKUAT Vice chancellor. In acknowledgment of the symbiotic relationship between JKUAT and PAUSTI, JKUAT Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victoria Wambui Ngumi, highlighted the active participation of JKUAT faculty members in collaborative research initiatives at PAUSTI.

“This fruitful collaboration has not only facilitated joint research projects involving scholars from various corners of the continent but has also significantly contributed to development and dissemination of new knowledge for Africa’s advancement,” said Prof. Ngumi.

Prof. Ngumi lauded PAU for its leadership in promoting cultural diversity and fostering understanding among African youth, recognizing the continental institution’s pivotal role in shaping future leaders.

During the visit, Ag. Director PAUSTI, Prof. Turoop Losenge, extended a warm welcome to the team and expressed eagerness for continued collaboration between the two institutions.

Prof. Losenge emphasized PAUSTI’s unwavering commitment to the overarching goals of the Pan African University. He expressed optimism regarding the prospects of joint initiatives, underscoring the role of collaboration and partnership in propelling PAU to greater heights of success.

The Pan African University, established as a flagship project of the African Union, aims to harness higher education, scientific research, and technology to drive Africa’s economic development, foster social integration, and enhance global competitiveness
