MATE Director Visits PAUSTI
In a significant stride towards fostering collaboration and mutual support, the Director, Directorate for International Relations for Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), Dr. David Bekesi, visited on March 25, 2024, to acquaint himself with Pan African University Institute for Science, Technology, and Innovation (PAUSTI), domiciled at JKUAT.
Prof. Losenge Turoop, extended a warm welcome to Dr. David Bekesi during his visit to the institute. Expressing enthusiasm for the collaboration between PAUSTI and MATE. Among the ideas shared between the two directors include: Staff and Student exchange, Capacity building, Resource sharing and implementation of research outputs between the two universities.

During the visit, Director, PAUSTI, Prof. Losenge Turoop, specifically highlighted the foreseeable research collaboration between the two institutions, emphasizing its pivotal role in addressing the challenges confronting Africa. His remarks underscored the holistic approach taken by PAUSTI in addressing not only scientific and technological challenges but also social and cultural dimensions. E highlighted the need for student mobilities between the two institutions.
Dr. David Bekesi on his sided expressed optimism about the future prospects of joint initiatives and underscored the importance of collaboration and joint steering of PAUSTI toward greater heights.
