THE ABOU BEKR BELKAID UNIVERSITY OF TLEMCEN GRANTS BRAND NEW BUILDINGS TO PAUWES
On a working visit to Algeria from 21 May to 1 June 2022, the Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, H.E. Prof. Mohammed Belhocine, began his mission in Tlemcen, where he visited the Pan-African University Institute of Water and Energy Sciences including Climate Change (PAUWES) on 22 May 2022.
During the guided tour of the institute's premises, which was attended by Prof. Mourad MEGHACHOU, Rector of the institute's host university, the Abou Bekr Belkaid University, the Director of PAUWES, Prof. Abdellatif Zerga, and the Wali of Tlemcen, Mr Amoumène Mermouri, the Commissioner was very pleased with the granting of brand new buildings to PAUWES by the host university, as part of the host government's commitment to provide secure structures and furnished and equipped offices at its own expense, to the institute.
These architectural jewels with a capacity of 1000 teaching places and comprising two amphitheatres, an administrative block and a library, only remain to be equipped.
The Commissioner thanked the Rector of the host university, the competent Algerian authorities and the Wali of Tlemcen for these magnificent buildings with their refined architecture. Once equipped, the Commissioner will return to Algeria for the actual reception of the buildings.
The visit ended on a high note of satisfaction on the part of the Commissioner for ESTI.
