Professor Elizabeth Sarange Bosire ABENGA is the new Director of the Institute of the Pan African University for Governance, Human and Social Sciences (PAUGHSS). She replaces Professor Joseph Vincent NTUDA EBODE who held this position for 9 years.

But who exactly is this lady with a friendly and maternal face?

Professor ABENGA, a Kenyan national, is a Professor of Education. She holds a PhD in Educational Communication and Technology and a Master's Degree in Educational Planning&Administration and Curriculum Development from Moi University in Kenya. 

She was also had training courses in Germany, notably in Internationalization Management at Leibniz University and in Higher Education Management at Kassel University. 

 

Before joining PAUGHSS, Prof. ABENGA already cumulated 32 years of experience in higher education, 17 of which were spent at the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology. Within this university, she held the positions of Acting Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs and Information and Documentation Coordinator at the School of open learning and continuing education.

 

Her main areas of research include: emerging technologies in education, leadership in higher education, internationalization and organizational learning.

She has published numerous peer review papers and training modules. She has also participated and made presentations at 51 conferences and 38 workshops around the world.

 

Finally, she is a member of several professional associations such as the African Network for Internationalization of Education (ANIE), Society of Educational Research and Evaluation in Kenya (SEREK), Educational Management Society of Kenya (EMSKENYA), among others.
