The Department of the African Union Commission in charge of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation will organize the Pan African University Education Days from 30 to 31st July 2024 in Cameroon, at the Yaounde Conference Centre. 

This major event is initiated as part of the implementation of the Year on Education, endorsed and launched last February by AU Heads of State and Government during the 37th AU Summit.

The Year on Education, it should be recalled, provides a suitable space for education champions to raise awareness of African leaders on the urgent need to reinforce political commitment through accrued investments on the education sector, and call on stakeholders to mobilize resources for the implementation of key AU’s strategic papers (STISA, CESA, etc.)

Staging the PAU Education Days was therefore necessary to underscore its instrumentality in driving the continent’s human capital development as enshrined in the Agenda 2063. In this light, a number of panels shall ponder on key topics regarding the historic expansion and sustainability of the Pan African University as a development project.

The PAU Education Days are expected to gather hundreds of participants, including AU Member States’ reps, international organizations, education experts and policy makers, the Academia, media professionals as well as students of the big PAU community.
